BULL SHARK “Carcharhinus leucas” Bull sharks are found worldwide in tropical to subtropical coastal waters. They prefer depths of less than 30m but have been recorded up to 150m deep. They can tolerate fresh water and frequently travel up river mouths, bays and estuaries. The teeth on the upper jaw are triangular with coarse serrations. Bull sharks are mainly solitary hunters that eat a large variety of bony fish, stingrays and even their own species of juvenile sharks. They have been reported to reach an average size of 3.4m (11ft) long and weigh 230kg. The International shark attack file has recorded that Bull sharks are responsible 69 attacks & 17 fatalities on humans.
